As an assistant account executive at Siren you will support Siren’s core service areas and contribute to content creation for our clients while learning an immense amount about both the industry and client service. Social and digital media will be a focus of this role, with the opportunity to grow into media relations and the full scope of strategic communication.

Required qualifications:

  • Knowledge of, and previous experience with, Siren’s core service areas: strategic communication, media relations, social media and crisis communication
  • Knowledge of press writing including press releases and media alerts
  • Experience producing social media content for professional brands
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally during team collaboration and client service

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION

At Siren all client service begins with strategy. Your role will support this critical function, under the guidance of a Siren leader. Responsibilities include:

  • Gain a clear understanding of Siren’s approach to strategic communication and be able to discuss the process with internal and external audiences
  • Support Siren leadership in performing strategic communication discovery sessions and delivering on strategic communication projects
  • Contribute to the development of strategic communication plans
  • Develop impact reports to illustrate progress toward client goals and KPIs
  • Provide support for client work across paid, earned, shared, and owned channels

 

SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media will be a core function of your role at Siren, with the responsibility of managing accounts across a variety of clients and industries on a weekly basis. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategy for social media campaigns in partnership with account lead
  • Create visual and written content across several clients and industries
  • Drive audience growth for client and Siren social media accounts
  • Interact with brands on social media and monitor comments/inbox
  • Utilize software systems to schedule, post, and boost social media content

 

MEDIA RELATIONS

In your role you will support Siren account leads with media campaigns. Responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to strategic media campaigns, including research, writing, and distribution for press materials
  • Begin to establish relationships with key media contacts
  • Utilize Cision software to compile media lists for distributing press releases and pitches  
  • Take responsibility for media monitoring across Siren’s client base, utilizing Critical Mention software
  • Develop same-day, monthly, and yearly media reports for Siren clients

 

CRISIS COMMUNICATION

  • Support Siren leadership with research and administrative help during a client crisis
  • Work to develop an understanding of crisis communication best practices

 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Clearly communicate your needs, challenges you perceive, and status of your work to Siren team members
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Siren clients
  • Become proficient on Siren’s client service software
  • Deliver results in-line with client contracts
  • Ensure client and Siren deadlines are met
  • Meet administrative expectations set forth by Siren’s Business Manager, including time entry
  • Meet utilization rates as determined by Siren leadership

 

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

  • Full-time, W-2 position
  • Salary range estimated at $35,000 – $39,000 per year, subject to determination based on qualifications
