As an Account Executive at Siren you will help fuel the success of Siren’s core service areas by creating content, executing media campaigns, and contributing to communication strategy. Social and digital media experience and strength is required, as the role entails managing social accounts for a variety of clients. Required qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional experience with Siren’s core service areas: strategic communication, media relations, social media, and crisis communication
  • Experience executing media campaigns that result in coverage
  • Knowledge of Detroit’s media landscape
  • Experience managing professional social media accounts including content creation and growth strategies
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with Siren clients
  • Ability to communicate clearly to the client what you are, and are not, aiming to do, and what impact your work has had

At Siren all client service begins with strategy. Your role will support this critical function, under the guidance of a Siren leader. Responsibilities include:

  • Gain a clear understanding of Siren’s approach to strategic communication and be able to discuss the process with internal and external audiences
  • Support Siren leadership in performing strategic communication discovery sessions and delivering on strategic communication projects
  • Contribute to the development of brand messaging and strategic communication plans
  • Develop impact reports to illustrate progress toward client goals and KPIs
  • Contribute to the success of paid, earned, shared, and owned communication campaigns



Social media will be a core function of your role at Siren, with the responsibility of managing accounts across a variety of clients and industries on a weekly basis. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategy for social media campaigns
  • Be the brand voice over social media to the community
  • Create visual and written content across several clients and industries
  • Drive audience growth for client and Siren social media accounts
  • Interact with brands on social media and monitor comments/inbox
  • Utilize software systems to schedule, post, and boost social media content



In your role you will support Siren account leads with media campaigns. Responsibilities will include:

  • Execute strategic media campaigns, including research, writing, and distribution for press materials
  • Establish relationships with key media contacts in Detroit and beyond
  • Generate media coverage on behalf of clients
  • Assist in preparing clients for media interviews
  • Utilize Cision software to compile media lists for distributing press releases and pitches  
  • Take responsibility for media monitoring across Siren’s client base, utilizing the Critical Mention software
  • Develop same-day, monthly, and yearly media reports for Siren clients



  • Gain an understanding of crisis communication best practices
  • Contribute to crisis communication messaging and content development



  • Clearly communicate your needs, challenges you perceive, and status of your work to Siren team members
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Siren clients
  • Become proficient on Siren’s client service software
  • Deliver results in-line with client contracts
  • Ensure client and Siren deadlines are met
  • Meet administrative expectations set forth by Siren’s Business Manager, including daily time entry
  • Meet utilization rates as determined by Siren leadership



  • Full-time, W-2 position
  • Salary range estimated at $40,000 – 45,000 per year, subject to determination based on qualifications
