Situation

Sustainable Business Network of Detroit is a  coalition formed in 2021, focused on creating a sustainable business ecosystem through a network serving as a hub for idea-sharing, programming, content, mentoring and more.

Strategy

Our challenge was to align many stakeholders , position the coalition members as experts in sustainability, and attract NGOs, companies, and higher ed to join the cause through a multi-disciplinary communication approach.Our understanding of sustainability narratives allowed us to effectively communicate the SBN’s mission and ultimately promote their kickoff event through media and social media.

Our multi-level stakeholder engagement allowed us to create an integrated marketing plan that supported the launch with five participating organizations and several supporting vendors all working toward one goal.

Results

  • Secured media placements with outlets such as WWJ and Crain’s Detroit Business
  • Potential audience of 694k
    • 212k in online news audience
    • 482k in radio news audience
  • Social media partnerships resulted in 127 event promotion posts across four platforms from 44 different profiles.
