Situation
As COVID-19 gripped businesses in Royal Oak’s downtown district, the Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority set out to help business owners through funding for their businesses and financial incentives for visitors. It was our job to communicate the opportunity and put this help into the right hands.
Strategy
As the DDA’s ongoing communication partner, we activated immediately to launch a strategic communication campaign through media, social media and email marketing. Messaging highlighted why this financial help was possible, who it was for, and how to access it.
Results
- 92 businesses were awarded a total of $1.2 million
- The DDA’s consumer newsletter attracted over 21,000 contacts in less than two weeks after launching the Downtown Dollars program
- 1.1M reached through media coverage about the financial resources
- And best of all, business owners felt supported and cared for by our client. A win for everyone involved.
- Downtown Royal Oak won the Main Street Forward Award for this program
